 Not bad!  A little rough along the edges of the patch though and again if you want the patch to look realistic, you have to use multiply or grain merge (sometimes I use grain extract as well but you have to invert the colours first) to apply the layer.  Create a new hat layer for each layer of animation and merge them. Those layers become the frames of your animation.  Obviously I'm just telling you what I do - you will obviously have your own style and that's a good thing; embrace it!
