I appreciate the follow and the good luck. It's encouraging.

If you're interested in the process feel free to set up an encrypted wallet with your software of choice even if you don't have any coins inside. I'd be happy to run it through my system at no charge so you can get a feel for how I'm operating this. Just keep in mind that the length and complexity of the password determine the time it can take to crack so it may not be worth it to try to run a ridiculously long mixed alphanumeric without some kind of reward at the end. Part of the challenge is knowing when to wait for faster hardware to be released. It'll come eventually.

Additionally, not all wallet software has a premade solution for gpu or fpga processing but I'm willing to code whatever is needed. The challenge is really interesting and satisfying once complete so I'd give it a shot regardless of difficulty. I'd only ask that you post here about your experience, positive or negative. Feedback is helpful.

Thanks!

I am up for this to verify your service. Let me know what information do you need. If this is really can be done then you will definitely be able to help a lot of members in the forum .

Let me know what information you need and let's keep it public here. What do you think?

Sounds great. I appreciate your time and I'm sure the community appreciates your due diligence.

Due to the number of users who have contacted me privately, i'm in the process now of building a website to standardize and automate some of the information gathering process. I'll start with some basic questions to get the ball rolling. If you're not sure how to answer feel free to ask for clarification.

1. What type of currency are you hoping to recover and how much?

2. What software was used to create and encrypt the wallet?

3. What type of device was used (mobile, pc, hardware wallet, etc) to create the wallet and what operating system does the device run if applicable?

4. Do you have access to a pc? Is it a desktop or a laptop? What operating system does the machine run?

5. Approximately when was the wallet created? When was the encryption applied? When was the last time you had access to the wallet?

6. Can you describe the process you're using to attempt to decrypt the wallet? What sort of backup information are you in possession of? Is it a backup file? A pass phrase/recovery seed?
**Please see the advisory below before posting your answer to this question.**

7. This question is more relevant in a non test scenario but could still be helpful:
Can you tell me a little bit about what happened? How did you lose access to the wallet? Is this your personal wallet or are you inquiring on behalf of a third party? Do you have any proof that you had access to the wallet at some point in the past?

ADVISORY: I don't recommend posting any portion of your private keys, backup file, pass phrases or passwords at this time as it could lead to a compromise of your wallet.

Thanks again for your time. I'm looking forward to the followup.
