You cant use the Solaris client to send or receive right now, its still in beta.
As of now, you can't send NXT, register aliases or anything else that requires your account secret. As such, you will currently not be asked for your secret in the NXT Solaris client

This client is so cool and has so much functionalities. There are only 2 problems with it: closed source and 132MB.
Regarding closed source: Look at the roadmap.
Regarding size: I wanted to do it hassle-free to make it easy for new users, so both, the NXT core and the jre are included. Once my release cycle slows down, I'll offer client-only downloads (without core and jre).
