Please pass to the owners/managers that they have to assume responsibility for what happened and they have to keep the customers updated about: - what's going on with their money - what are they actively doing to protect their money
Hiding behind the police for a month it's not acceptable for any business owners.
They were (or are) restricted to what they can say. They were literally locked out of their own building and systems.
While it can be unsettling for the users not knowing what is going on - for investigators it can be an advantage keeping the information confidential. I do not know the reasons but I'm sure they have good reasons for it.
I don't like the fact that for a month there was silence and all of a sudden today we have 3 forum users who claim have ties with Cryptopia, are not officials, but are trying to convince us of... something. What are you trying to convince us of, anyway? It looks to me you are trying to convince us that the owners have no responsibility. Well, you are wrong and as business owners they have.
I (and Lafu) have posted numerous updates throughout the month in this thread. It has been drowned out by people that have their own opinions not based on facts.
For this community service we received abuse and insults.
Cryptopia nor the NZ police use Bitcointalk for their announcements.
There was no "silence": Here are all the posts that directly relate to the attack and announcements:
There is no point for me to communicate with people that are not prepared to act in a civil manner. Abusive members will just be ignored and serous abuse will be reported.
I've got no interest in communicating with the roaches in this thread. This is purely for people that can communicate with some decency.
