By simply skipping the part of "odds", will we able to make profits in sports betting like capability of predicting the winning team is alone enough ?
You may skip the odds but you may not make significant profit as when predicting the winning team looks so easy then the odds will be so low. The main point of looking the odds is that to give you more opportunity what is to bet on. If you are referring to soccer matches, once it come a match between a big team versus low team then most gambler will try to find other odds instead of bet on the winning team because of the low odds.
The bookmakers mostly know how big or small the odds are for each team becuase they're using tons of information(stats,injuries,insider stuff, etc) which we also use to predict the winner of a match. The only time they make mistakes is when a team or player doesn't have much recent matches or no head to head history against their upcoming opponents.
Skipping the odds or not getting influenced on what the bookmaker gives does makes us more profit by reducing our losses and look for matches that have valuable odds.
