I see that it has taken a little longer for you, but for me it was all flawless. There were some documents asked in addition for me too, but it was processed eventually, no troubles. There are a lot of regulations pushed upon companies like that and I consider it good that EO complies with all of them. After all, we are in it for the long term and security of a financial account is important. Hypothetically, something happens and you lose access or your account gets hacked. You are much better off knowing that you verified your identity and your account  belongs to you officially. Not taking any sides, just expressing an opinion, since I have a great experience using EO products pretty much from the start.
