They are not an ICO, neither they launch a new coin

This is even worse than ICO. It is a hard fork with huge PREMINE.
There is no premine, stop spreading lies about these poor guys, they are not scammers, they are just miners that want to adopt a new PoW algorithm.

A hard fork is just a change in consensus  that results in a chain-split:
The forked nodes retain their commitment to old chain up to the fork point and continue stacking up their own blocks on it instead of what legacy nodes confirm and follow. We have intentional and unintentional hard forks.

Accusing intentional hard forks of being a scam is what establishments/whales in cryptocurrencies do for several reasons which is a void and meaningless practice for them and a violation of basic rights of people: forking off from the mainstream. I think institutions and individuals behind such accusations are the real scammers.

Any person or group of persons have a basic right to do a hard fork as far as they are not manipulating the  historical data or forging weird rules against the ignorant people who may join later.

Accusations against such legitimate hard forks are FUD and deserves zero attention.

Bitcoin gold was not a hard fork, they took an snapshot of the bitcoin UTXO, added their pre-mined coins (which was not too much by the way) and used to start a fresh blockchain, it was a new coin. They forked from the source code as a bitcoin clone but not from the blockchain.
