I can honestly say that I've never typed the Bitcoin symbol in my entire life. If someone outside here sent it to me it might take me a few seconds to figure out what they're referring to.

If it's the same as on Android, where you have to go to symbols, tap and hold on the $ and then select BTC it's a pain in the ass
I would type faster "bitcoin" than going through all of that.
how many people even know to hold down the $ sign to get the dropdown menu? i've had an android for a long time and i didn't even know that function existed until reading this story.
and of course, they didn't even add the bitcoin symbol to the android app. seems totally weird to me. google and android go hand in hand usually.
i would be very surprised if there were even 100k gboard users on iphone. among them, few will probably even notice this.
