It looks like this is becoming a new trend these days. You get a bunch of bored Crypto traders and you create some game or tournament to spice things up and this stimulates the market. 

So if trading does not provide enough profit, then you supplement it with fees from games like this. I am not saying that there are anything wrong with this, because it has a lot of advantages for all of us, but it is definitely a strategy to keep people interested in Crypto trading.
