By what system can your displays communicate with the main control center? After all, should they somehow be configured through a single source network?
We decided to create a variable protocol, which allows either realtime communication, but also "delayed" communication to control the display fleet. Instead of the displays communicating directly with the backend, they communicate with Command & Control Centers, which get placed - similar to CDN's - close to the displays. The Command & Control Centers itself will be connected to major backbones and synchronize their content with the main backend.
What then are the functions of these control centers? Do they just distribute information flows or are they responsible for synchronization?
