I don't think that having the Bitcoin symbol in iOS would signify that there is worldwide adaptation, but instead that people know about it enough for Apple to add it. Honestly, there's a lot of symbols that people hardly ever use on a daily basis but I think that having a bitcoin symbol would allow crypto users who are apple product users as well to utilize it or just simply have fun with it. Perhaps the recent hype over it last 2017 has contributed to this.
