This seems like a classic con-man tactics to gain money. This does not make sense. Did you ever hear about a bank asking all users having sent funds through a certain funding method to reverify at the bank where they hold their account? I never heard about such nonsense. If you're verified, you're verified, and asking customers to verify again, how can that make sense? It will only anger customers. Lots of users who do not have too much money at MtGox will probably just give up altogether and MtGox will keep that money for ever.

There was talks about some ongoing investigations in a thread posted to reddit where someone claimed they'd gone to MtGox and talked to Gonzague Gay-Bouchery, manager of business development at MtGox which then told that there's a couple of ongoing investigations.

In my opinion, a lot of his answers were very vague and I did not become reassured about what he said.

Anyway, to OP, there's nothing else to do but to do what they request from you - do that and see if the situation solves itself - and after that perhaps just get the money hell out of there if you can?
