Yes I am pretty sure that crypto currency will be a mass payment option in upcoming days. And not only upcoming days its already started many depurated centralised company already accepting crypto as a payment option. I think decentralisation is the main point you own crypto by yourself and their is no 3rd party when you use crypto in payment method its just you and the taker. I think bitcoin  will be the most use crypto in future. Cause it is popular and people like it. But bit coin has already some problem about ten so if lightning network come properly then other coins will take very little chance in this matter.
