For Monero to reach $500, other coins will need to pump even more. Monero is quite frankly unappealing, it has horrible user experience, to the point where some dark markets prefer using non-private coins just so they don't deal with all the crap surrounding XMR.

I see Monero as a great science project that could bring tons of innovation, only to be adopted by other coins.
