- Q: Who are you people?
- A: We are a bunch of IT professional friends from London, experienced with crypto and disgruntled with the current state of the market: insane amount of spamcoins, failed launches, countless pump and dump schemes.
- Q: Why such name?
- A: The story of a single, unheard of developer taking over the world by simple yet extremely captivating game (Flappy Bird) was an inspiration for creation of this coin.
- Q: This coin is shit, why do we need another alt?
- A: The aim of the Flappy Coin is to make a fresh difference in the current market. We want to create a stable, reliable coin that can be trusted. We want to promote what we call "Flappy Bird" ethos - the concept that even a single person can make a massive impact to the world. This coin is NOT another pathetic pump and dump scheme designed to benefit developers and a few early adopters - if that is what you are after, please look elsewhere. We are here for a long haul.
- Q: What are the plans for the coin?
- A: The core values around the coin are trust, community, promotion of generosity, innovation and development. We plan to cooperate with charities and have got some unique ideas in the pipeline - stay tuned!
We DON'T want Flappy Coin to become some bizarre financial construct, a speculation vehicle existing only to trade on shady exchanges and benefit a few early adopters.
- Q: Parameters?
- A: It is a scrypt coin, 60 seconds block time, 50 coins per block, 100 millions coins in total. Difficulty retarget 90 minutes. We don't want to spam market with billions of worthless coins, but at the same time we want to provide all miners (not just early adopters) with constant flow of coins - it will take over 2 years for block reward to halve. Quick difficulty recalculation should ensure better mining stability of the coin, especially during the launch window.
- Q: Premine?
- A: Because we absolutely want this coin to succeed, a difficult decision was made to premine (yes, an ugly "p" word!) 1% of the coin. HOWEVER, all of the coins gathered that way will be used for bounties, faucets, giveaways, coin promotion etc - they will be distributed among the community. The premine will NOT serve as a way for developers to earn some quick buck, these coins will NOT be dumped on the market. We will do our best to engage community in the coin and make sure as many people as possible can benefit from the initial coin distribution.
- Q: When will the coin be released?
- A: We are only going to release the coin when it is fully ready and tested. No half-baked code, broken wallets, no half-measures. The rough timescale is by the end of this month.
