Does anyone who is trusted by a DT1 become automatically a DT2? If so, the least that can be said is that this is so wrong!

Anyone who is on DT1 who goes into their trust list settings and adds users makes a person DT2 automatically. See image below. You can give a user a positive trust for a trade or whatnot and it does nothing to their DT status. This is where I think people are confused.
Also, as you see in the image below if you use ~ symbol before someones username in your trust settings, that user is not trusted by you.
