In the past in my country dog fight was popular but if you are caught doing it you go straight to prison and for a long time.The same applies for cock fighting too and any other animal related violence.
I may be wrong, but from my point of view it is a bit hypocritical when people eat meat, wear leather clothes, go to circuses where, it's a fact, tamers torture animals, with their kids, and at the same time oppose dog fighting, corrida, cock fighting and such. I think that person must be consistent in his/her actions. You either go vegan or stfu.
But even vegans are hypocrites, if you ask me. But that is entirely different topic.
Killing an animal for food purposes can be justified. Because it is natural and we are not going against the nature. But how can you justify forcing animals to fight until their death, just for our entertainment? I am more or less neutral on this, because events such as bull-fighting are integral to some cultures. So it is not right to ban them. But at the same time, my personal opinion is against such sports.
What about circuses? Aren't animals tortured there for entertainment purposes only?
I'm against cruelty towards animals, but I bet those fighting roosters are much happier than the bear riding bicycle in the picture below.
No one is forcing those roosters to fight btw, it's in their nature. While in circuses animals are constantly tortured by tamers to perform those funny tricks crowd adores so much.
