IOHK is still working on the BlockDAG study, it is part of the Horizen Road Map. Check Q4.
The BlockDAG implementation will be very complex and complete rewrite of our code so it's a huge project.
It will help solving the problem of centralization of hashing power around mining pools and you will be also able to solo mine.
