Hi jpeggt,

Ultimately, although we're interested in input from the community on logos, the decision is not one best made by the community - what people who are involved now like (ie. miners and people knowledgable about cryptocurrency) vs. what a wider market consisting of non-technical people who know nothing about cryptos will like could be two entirely different things. I personally like the current logo - it's nice and simple, and it looks clean and elegant IMO, I also think that remaining consistent with the logo we've had up until now is best, even though I do like some of the submissions from the community I have seen in the thread.

I think if we all want to the see the most success we can for Vertcoin, we should defer certain aspects of our public face to people with experience and expertise - obviously the final decision is up to Bushido, this is just my opinion.

Good point.

I don't dislike the current logo, I just think perhaps its a little rough around the edges and a slight refinement would make it pop. I do agree that something completely different would be counter productive at this stage.

^ this. And it's exactly why I prefer this:

Just wanted to share this awesome work by LukeMaxwell:
The logo was originally designed by khanwaltman.

This is the kind of logo I could see in shop windows and as stickers on terminals etc. There have been some other submissions here but they look a little bit too much like they've been made by techie geeks (not an insult hehe) rather than experienced designers with an eye for UI / that sort of thing. This logo is clean, welcoming, modern, and friendly. It's also not a long stretch from the existing logo. It's just better. I appreciate the amount of work that goes into a replacement logo but I feel it's worth it.
