This is probably about phishing emails. Such emails are most often sent by cheaters.
It could be that what you say is indeed true and most importantly for now we must be aware of emails sent by fraudsters and we should not be fooled by such things
Fraudsters can send a letter as if on behalf of the project, so you do not need to believe everything they write and be sure to check back officially.
