It all depends on the cost of electricity. If it is free ( included in the rent, etc.) then mining will be beneficial in any case.
I also believe that mining is will be profitable if the cost of electricity become lowest. Cause for mining its need more power of electricity and now the cost of electricity is very costly for which we can't get sufficient profits from mining.
To all those who replied in this thread about electricity. I am planning to make my home to be powered by Solar completely but not because of mining. Since I planned of clean green energy, I also thought of mining with the free energy!.
