I'm definitely a self proclaimed advanced user
Cannot wait to see that GUI working on my PC. I think I'd rather use a web based version of course, cause this whole blockchain reindex is insane. I tried 3 times already 
Its really simple actually.
Set bitcoin.conf properly
Reindex
Download counterparty prereq's
Build counterparty database
On a virtual machine, reindexing takes about 6 hours, and rebuilding takes about 3.
But its a one time deal, after that your set.
