TAU and TAUT are two different coins each having its own Blockchain but all run u Dee same consensus, proof or transaction (POT), which is normal I think
TAUT is fully for PC mining (neither hardware nor staking power required), for details on how to install TAUT software for mining on Ubuntu v14.04 & v16.04, chech this video ->
https://youtu.be/9K9XiQskUIQTAUT was born as a result of a stable and strong TAU's testnet, it's also a fully community driven project having its own team lead by a president (see taucoin.io main page)
TAU will focus on mobile mining and taken by original team lead by iMorpheus, a CEO. Mobile mining testnet is in progress internally and everything works to its perfection (if I would have enough merits, could provide more mobile mining testing screenshots, or else someone will show)
That's fantastic, having low power consumption is intended to bring a light coin on mobile mining
Also on the roadmap, its clear, when one visit and find it at TAU's main site, at the far bottom -> taucoin.io
Also one can check the technical roadmap on CEO own medium article ->
