Moreso than just its role as a potentially disruptive form of currency, the potential of crypto suggests that it can play a fundamental role in a paradigmatic shift in society and global economy. People who are doing quite well in the fabric of today's society are, of course, dedicated to protecting the status quo and themselves by extension.

Now, that doesn't explain why Auntie Sue and Barber Joe hate crypto. They would stand to benefit from a shakeup that dethrones the bankers and politicians.
