Ethereum has been use widely for ICO purchase which have given this coin a high recognition. And also ripple has been on test for her technology in financial institutions to use since it can process trasactions than bitcoin. Will these two coins replace bitcoin and become number 1 on the coinmarketcap
At the moment there is not a single coin that can replace Bitcoin. Ether and ripple don't have the characteristics that would help them to beat Bitcoin. Bitcoin is first of all an idea and all other coins are just trying to become part of this idea. So I'm not one of those who believe that in the near future some kind of coin will replace Bitcoin.
