Perhaps you don't understand the nature of politics, but this was all just a paid-for meet-and-greet photo-op to give the impression they were actually doing something 'with' the British Government. They were not. Politicians all over the world are sponsored (paid) to attend corporate presentations and seminars in order to lend an air of legitimacy and gravitas. It does not mean those corporations are actually involved with that country's government in a business relationship.
