I don't think there is a specific reason as to why now. That script has been working for more than 9 months to my knowledge and the user behind it is not anonymous, many people know who that is (good job from me too ).

I'm pretty sure he isn't targeting DTs, Russians or any specific signature campaign participants...as some comments in other threads suggested. I guess he had some free time to report.
