I'm sure we discussed this already in the forum (searching for a topic is overrated it seems), but allow me to reiterate:

It is not practical, because the distance in communications is not trivial. We are talking about a 40min long ping here.

Far more logical would be to use another blockchain. It can be Bitcoin itself, renamed if you like to avoid confusion. Sure there could be an exchange, if someone is willing to take the risks of 40min delays...

Unless this communications problem is solved somehow, such as with quantum entanglement in a future interplanetary communications device, it is just unpractical to do it with Bitcoin itself.
