A healthy competition would be good between TRON and Ethereum but I don't think TRON would displace Ethereum any time just yet. If there will be also a list of partnerships that Ethereum had just attained then I think you'll know what I mean. 
Why not consider the competition between the best smart contract provider? Ethereum and EOS, then consider how many altcoins they've helped produced that really helped the market to achieve the best that it can be. In that case, we are looking on a much wider view of the positive implication of these 2 great altcoins.
