This is a real possibility - and makes you wonder if Chipmixer isn't already, or hasn't always been ran by some goverment agency.
This is also why some people recommend using multiple mixing services, one after another, but there aren't many mixing services which can handle a large amount of coins.
Or don't do any criminal business!
I'm a bit mixed about this situation...
With the uncertainty around taxation of cryptocurrencies and the usual over-taxation which is put upon people for every action they do, having anonymity is appealing and great; I see it as a precaution to avoid a possible "legal theft" from governments.
On the other hand, people who deal on drugs, hitmen, c*** pornography or overall hurt other people, then those guys should be caught. No one should want them in the cryptocurrency world because they only make a bad name of it.
