We are very excited to announce that NIX Core 3.0 is now ready and released for mainnet! This update comes with many exciting features, most notably finalized Off-Chain Governance, as well as our newly integrated privacy protocol enhancement, Sigma.
Off-Chain Governance
Off-Chain Governance will be active immediately and is now available for mainnet use with this release. In a first ever blockchain governance solution, the entire NIX community can now make proposals on network changes/enhancements/additions to be voted on by both node owners and stakers on the NIX network; completely off-chain without bloating the NIX blockchain.
Sigma
Sigma introduces a major overhaul to NIX existing privacy layer and is a replacement to zerocoin, the initial library NIX utilized as an on-chain zero-knowledge locational privacy protocol. Sigma brings both scalability and enhanced privacy to NIX and will activate at block 232,000. Old privatized funds made prior to this update will be able to be redeemed after sigma is activated on the network.
Conclusion
NIX 3.0 brings a revolutionary update with many new additions that solidifes NIXs tech. This is a mandatory update for users and clients before block 232,000.
