I received a replacement R606 from @sidehack yesterday. It immediately started hashing away on my Ubuntu 18.04 LTS system along with the NewPac that has been running for several weeks. No changes to the build or settings. Many thanks to all who offered advice here, and especially @sidehack and @rockmoney who worked hard to get a replacement to me.
Any suggestions on the difficulty setting or other parameters are welcome! It is a sweet-running mining machine!
