About that 2 options, i am hit and run player. Because sometime i play and afraid to lose, so when i win or lose, usually i leave the game and maybe take a rest. And then start again in next day.
I feel you bro. I'm more of option #1, tooa hit and run player. I know to myself and honestly admitted that I don't like the feeling of losing. It gives me frustration and regret. So whenever I have that drive to gamble, and whenever I win big, then I prefer to walk out immediately and enjoy what I gained before something change my mind that'll trigger me to bet again and again until I have lost everything.
I am not a good poker player but Poker is not a rocket science as well. If you try to learn how to play poker, with practice, you would be able to achieve the level you want to. In addition, you need to be rational by which I mean relying on your skills and the probability if making something happen. Do not think about Luck coming and saving you. This would be foolish. The richest men in Poker are the guys who worked on their weak ones.
