Well, the performance of Bitcoin was actually impressive so far, according to
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/ it was 8688$ which is very closed to 10, 000$ each bitcoin. I think once it reach that amount, it will hard for the bitcoin holders to accumulate it, because its getting expensive now. So as long as not reaching 10k$ better to buy em now then hold.
Yes, I agree with you that we are still in accumulation stage an those still having the mind of adding bitcoin to their portfolio should better do so now before it becomes too expensive. We can even see the sign already that present investors are already finding it expensive which is why the price was almost stagnant around $8000 till we got another forceful investment which I dont know where that came from yet.
At $10,000, the value might take sometimes to increase again or will be slow in its increase till a larger institution comes to invest because they are mostly the ones that can afford that value then easily.
