But they could just open it back up for a few days and only allow withdrawals, right? Opening up just for a few hours would definitely mess some people up. I don't know though, the owner is probably rightfully paranoid.
I think one could argue that this is just scummy behaviour. Bitblender has been online for years, you really think a couple days will make a difference?
He's storing god knows how many user funds on his website, why is everyone so hellbent to give him a pass regarding this?
I mean, being online for a few more days is definitely a lot better than only an additional few hours, so.. I'd take the few more days. Also, I don't think it's just that people are "giving him a pass". Not saying that his intentions aren't to run away with the money, but there's also just that good probability that the dude is just trying to bail asap to not be potentially prosecuted or something. But then again, I have no idea. We can really only speculate for now.
