Yep exactly. Though they are "cheap Chinese PSU", they are around 4 times cheaper than the equivalent wattage PSU, and have more cables suited for mining use.

Though cheap isn't always best in power supply situations! The best idea if you want cheap is to use commercial server psus and breakout boards, cos they're designed for the job and cheap as chips. They are noisy tho...

Speaking of PSUs, 2kw psu to run 8x Vega 7s per rig will be nice. There's the superflower 2000w platinum, which exists but I have no idea where to get it, and the 2200w evga platinum. No news from Evga since Jan 2018.

Gamemax do 2kw psu, but they are "cheap chinese" psu, and they are almost as loud as an asic (you won't believe it until you hear it).

Hey, I was searching around for PSUs that might be able to handle 5 or 6 GPUs.

I'm currently using Corsair HXi Series™ HX1000i for my 6x Asus GTX 1070 8GB OC rig, I realised the cables used to power up the gpus have 2x 8-pin connector but ofcourse the 1070 use only 1x 8-pin connector.
With all these 1070 gpus I've connected the power which leaves 1x 8-pin empty.

Do you guy's think I can use the same PSU;  Corsair HXi Series™ HX1000i or AX1600i to setup 5 radeon vii?

Just that after looking at my 1070 rig, there are plenty 2x 8-pin connectors to be used for 5x radeon vii setup... or am I missing something?

I'm using a 1650w psu and it powers 5 radeon vii's no problem so far.
