Social media also cause depression in many people, because they not only procrastinate, but also constantly compare their life to others, which leads to dissatisfaction. Also social media are good at spreading lies and fakes, which can have negative effects on the economy - anti-vax panic, anti-GMO, political manipulation and so on.
Technology is a boon or is a bane. It just depends to the perspectives of the people. It can be harm to the individual and may result to an economic defficiency but technology helps also the growth of economy. The only purpose of technology is to make our lives easier. However, all things are dangerous if we use it in a wrong way.
