I think this is one of the most important questions, that will heavily influence the succes of NEM.

One of the biggest long-term problems of NXT is in my opinion, the current forging system.
It supports hoarding coins but gives no incentive to actually USE the currency.
And as we can see, many stakeholders are just sitting on huge sums, waiting to forge some more. (http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=34)

I always hoped, cryptocurrency will solve the problem of the ongoing redistribution in favour of the rich.
But greed always finds a backdoor, somewhere.

NEM wants to be fair, so this is our chance.

I dont quite understand the concept of Proof of Importance, so maybe someone can explain this in more detail or with a good similie.
In my opinion NEM has to give two kinds of incentive:

- 1st: to buy into the coin as an long-term investment
- 2nd: to actually use NEM as a currency

(when I think of this, it seems, that bitcoin solves this quite well:
1st: it is rare & limited-> deflation
2nd: low transaction fees )

So how can we improve over NXT and design a currency, where people feel good when they hold and feel good when they spend?
