In General, it is not clear why he decided to speak about cryptocurrencies right now,but nevertheless, Americans will still invest in assets despite everything
I believe it is all about the Libra coin that he's talking about and not really the cryptocurrency but whatever he just said before that he's not a fan of Bitcoin nor cryptocurrency. It is just a call to make a change for their centralized currency for their investors, probably.
its not about libra as libra work with the big boys, like paypal and banks and governments and backed(scam) by usd....nothing wrong with libra...

all the stable coins is scams espacially the stable coins that backed by gold or diamond and other shit, because the value of crypto ral coin its come from its peer to peer and its store of value and cash in the same time SO WHY ITS NEED TO BE BACKED, paper money even not close to this kind of value.
the only real crytpo stable coin which not backed by anything and backed by it self smart code which produce or reduce the amount of coin relative to the buying/selling rate and by this keep stable price....all the others that backed by whatever is scams
