Yeah, I fully expected that. As someone who no longer day trades to any meaningful extent, I generally don't have much interest in speculation, technical analysis, or the like. The few times I have ventured in to WO, I have never felt like I had much to contribute, so now I generally don't bother.

It's never seemed like somewhere that is particularly short on merits though, and if many of these "top merited users" are WO regulars then that's probably an accurate estimation on my part. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though - would be happy to send some merits that way if you think some deserving users are going unrecognized.
