Exactly. We know for sure, that Ethereum will recover someday in the same way as Bitcoin. It's all a matter of time and patience before Ethereum hits new ATHs again. Personally, I wouldn't worry about current ETH prices since the lower it becomes the greater for your pocket. You can easily obtain more ETH at cheaper prices before it becomes a full-fledged PoS cryptocurrency and before a bull market takes effect. Knowing how successful Ethereum has been in terms of development and innovation, should give us some confidence that the cryptocurrency will survive for many years to come.
Your prediction of Ethereum increasing in price within 5 years is realistic. This is because, Bitcoin's halving is bound to happen soon causing a bull market once more. Not to mention, ETH's newest upgrades will trigger a massive "FOMO" sentiment across people in the mainstream world. Now, we cannot tell for sure if it'll rise 10 times the price it is right now. It could either rise 2 or 3 times the current price given the slow movement of the market. But, if you buy now while prices are way below $500, you could greatly benefit within the next bull market.
Nonetheless, it's safe to say that Ethereum will rise again sooner or later. But, everything will depend on the people themselves whenever they trigger the demand necessary for this to happen or not. Just my thoughts
