I don't doubt the potential he was just young, looking for attention, and maybe now he's become tired of the spotlight.
But that still doesn't explain certain pieces of information he brought up in the 80s, that was proven 20-30 years later.

Well I would then argue why was he given access to such top secret information as a relative nobody. If what he says is true you would think that only the highest level of government officials or scientists at the top of their field would have this sort of access and would certainly be held accountable for leaking such highly classified material/secrets.
Just look at people like Edward Snowden and Chelsea Manning. IF they came out and just said the government is spying on us and they're logging everything we do but I don't have any proof then only conspiracy theorists would believe them, but both came through with actual receipts and a colossal amount of verifiable proof. The government is still after Snowden and Chelsea got 30 years but was pardoned by Barack Obama but look like they got her back in jail for some other bullshit now.
All I'm saying is you need more than just your word for these sorts of things otherwise it's just talk. I don't know the full details of what Bob Claimed about things that weren't known at the time but could it not be a coincidence or he just made something vague up that later turned out to bare some resemblance to something he made up?
