So, looking into the project it is my understanding that, as time passes on, the POS rewards get smaller? If not, the only offsetting thing to me is the amount of inflation that could constantly push the price down. What's to stop this from happening? Is there a maximum number of coins? It just seems like it will hyper inflate and lose all it's value over time.
1M NRG will always be released per month, but this will be a decreasing amount of inflation as that 1M is a smaller percentage of the total supply over time. PoS rewards will decrease over time as more NRG is collectively staked. The worst of the inflation was the first year and NRG held up just fine, in fact, it still outperformed almost every other cryptocurrency.
There is no maximum number of coins in Energi because the Treasury and Masternode allocation are essential to Energis survival, and are essentially the engine behind Energi. Thus we do not see a reason to give Energi a death sentence by removing its engine.
