What if (((THEY))) invented Bitcoin?
...
I've never ruled it out, but almost all of my observations thus-far argue against it.
The strongest hypothesis seems to me to be the standard story that it was done by some group who was pissed off about 2008. Probably pissed off before that, but 2008 was the incentive to start coding.
A beautiful (standard) story for children to help them sleep at night. Who are converting their fiat into BTC the most right now? The 'little people' with little savings, or the sociopaths like Jack Dorcey?
Everything should be questioned, even the beautiful story of BTC's Genesis...
I made it clear that all I have is a hypothesis which seems to line up best with the observations I've made. I question BTC's Genesis' all the time. Nothing would surprise me. People like me don't have any psychological need to 'know' anything. Only to have considered a broad range of hypotheses, and to be constantly entertaining new ones as old ones die. If you've got some proof that the 'fable' is impossible, I'll drop it. If you have a 'feeling' then I won't.
As for who's buying BTC, I have no idea. Probably a lot of classes of people. BTC's 'big thing' is that whoever is buying them, they are buying something which is not being debased, and even more critically, something which is not someone else's liability.
