Today is the heliacal rising of the star Sirius, and is associated with Osiris, the God of resurrection in ancient Egyptian thought, and this is the perfect day to start a novel proposal hack for a Namecoin hard fork named OSIRIS based on the principle of recycling un-renewed coins. The concept of expiration is already present in NMC but instead of wallets that expire, are domain names. The basic idea of OSIRIS is that un-renewed or forever lost coins due to lost private keys are recycled back into the ecosystem, rewarding them to miners at their expiration date. This idea has matured over many years and there is a post in the project direction NMC forum describing this as well. Does anyone feel betrayed by the lack of general interest and fresh ideas around this coin and is concerned that their investment will disappear soon as it seems to sink ever more into the mud as time passes?
