Jeff Bezos is the richest man in the world who didn't inherited his fortune. As of now his net worth is estimated at $114 billion, and this is despite him losing $38 billion as a result of the divorce settlement with his ex-wife (MacKenzie S. Tuttle). But is he the richest person in the world? No. There are monarchs out there, who are many times wealthier than Bezos. I am not talking about Vladimir Putin here, as most of his "wealth" exists only in Russophobic propaganda channels.

IMO, the richest person in the world may be Mohammad Bin Salman Al Saud, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is an absolute monarchy and the king literally owns all of the country. Aramco itself may be worth somewhere around $2 trillion. Apart from Mohammad Bin Salman, there are other monarchs out there, such as Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar, and Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi of Sharjah. But none of them would even come close.
