I think that is matter for the price of Ethereum and EOS. EDC Blockchain works on basis of EOS blockchain. Thanks this it has a LPoS blockchain and low commissions.
All I found on the site is that it is an independent blockchain, as well as a mention of the operation of this blockchain using the protocol Graphene. This protocol was first presented in 2017. In the start of the topic is shown that is used Bitshares 2.0 Graphene Protocol. EDC Blocking is a fully customized blockchain. It use LPoS mining that other blockchains do not use.
