The same day my (Dutch) government secretly took over one of our largest banks, after a silent bankruptcy, they were still telling the public the crisis would not hit in our country.
The EU government is also consistently overoptimistic in all of there predictions:

On the other hand, governments completely underestimated bitcoin :-)
