Binance is safe if you are using the exchange as an exchange and not as a security vault. The prices of crypto's are going down from time to time so it's not an issue if we see the prices swings oftenly.

Although Binance has launched their Binance DEX, coming from CZ it's not really a decentralized market so you're right that it's a centralized market but it's convenient to use.
