How do you go about shipping? Are there any import duties involved? I'm sure these would need to be invoiced.
Hello,
We can ship the paintings all around the world, we have the best deals with worldwide carriers and paintings are sent with insurance in custom made crates.
We work with dealers worldwide and when we're talking about big paintings, a Picasso for example, the buyer and seller are rarely in the same country so we have all the passports and document needed so that the painting can travel easily. Of course when we're talking about high price paintings, a viewing of the art piece will be organized near your place after you give us a letter of intent.
It depends on the country, most of them are quite light on taxes. That's also why art is such a great investment, most countries can't afford to tax art too much for multiple reasons including preventing art leaving the country and not coming in, plus the difficulty of constant art valuation.
In any case every investor is in a different tax situation, we always try to find the best legal solution for our costumer and our worldwide structure allows us to do it.
Of course, every painting we sell comes with an invoice and a certificate of authenticity. Note that most big names have a recognized expert, in that case we never sell any painting without this recognized expert expertise.
